Keynote the Leadership Summit on Sustainable Design

Monday, October 10, 2011 - Today, I will redefine what it means to be a fashion designer at the 10th annual Leadership Summit on Sustainable Design hosted by the Design Futures Council in Boston. During the meeting, 100 delegates from the world’s most influential architectural and engineering firms will convene to identify change drivers, analyze emerging data, and explore innovation in sustainable design. Speaker at the Embassy of Finland

Friday, April 8, 2011 - Next week, the Embassy of Finland in Washington, DC will host a Sustainable Fashion Seminar. During the seminar, I will outline challenges the fashion industry must address, such as the wide use of toxic chemicals, waste of natural resources and exploitation of workers. I will also highlight technological and traditional solutions being developed by leaders in the industry. Timo Rissanen, Associate Professor at Parsons The New School, will present his research on Zero Waste fashion. And ecofashion label Globe Hope will discuss best practices for upcycling clothing and textiles. If you're in town, please join us for an inspiring and informative session.
